Incorporated in Fiscal 2008, Patel’s R Mart operates as a value retail supermarket chain catering to the needs of the entire family. The company offers a diverse range of food, non-food (FMCG), general merchandise, and apparel products through its retail network and non-retail operations, supported by strong backward integration.

Business Model

The company operates two primary segments:

1. Retail Segment – Runs supermarkets under the “Patel’s R Mart” brand positioned as dependable neighborhood stores offering value-for-money products to lower-middle, middle, and aspiring upper-middle-class customers.

2. Non-Retail Segment – Engaged in processing, packaging, exporting, and trading of food and non-food products under its own brands and third-party brands.

Retail Operations

– Store Network: As of May 31, 2025, operates 43 stores across Thane and Raigad districts in Maharashtra with an aggregate retail business area of approx. 1,78,946 sq. ft.

– Product Assortment: Around 38 product categories with over 10,000 SKUs.

– Private Labels: Includes “Patel Fresh” (pulses, ready-to-cook), “Indian Chaska” (spices, ghee, papad), “Blue Nation” (menswear), and “Patel Essentials” (home improvement products).

– Customer Base: Targets densely populated residential clusters in suburban and tier-III cities using a cluster-based expansion strategy.

Exports & Trading

Exports staples, groceries, pulses, spices, and pulps to over 35 countries under own brands and customer brands. Company is also engages in domestic and export trading of FMCG goods, household items, kitchen appliances, and bulk agricultural commodities such as rice, sugar, pulses, and edible oil.

Key Strengths

i) Deep Market Understanding – Customized product assortment for each store based on local demand, supported by advanced IT-based inventory management.
ii) Strong Private Label Contribution – Private label sales accounted for over 17% of retail revenue in FY25.
iii)Steady Expansion – Growth from 1 store in 2008 to 43 stores in 2025.
iv) Efficient Logistics – Own distribution centre in Ambernath and a fleet of 18 trucks supplemented by third-party delivery partners.
v) Diverse Product Portfolio – Combination of reputed third-party brands, private labels, and unbranded bulk products.

Company proposes to utilize the Net Proceeds towards the following objects: 1. Repayment/prepayment, in full or part, of borrowings (₹59 cr) 2. Working capital requirements (₹115 cr) 3. General corporate purposes.

Promoters And Management:

1. Dhanji Raghavji Patel serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Company and is one of its Promoters. Associated with the Company since its inception, he brings over 25 years of experience in the business domain in which the Company operates, despite not holding any formal educational qualifications. Under his leadership, the Company ventured into food product processing and expanded its non-retail business vertical, including manufacturing and exports. 2. Bechar Raghavji Patel is the Whole-time Director of the Company and one of its Promoters. He has been associated with the Company since its inception and possesses over 25 years of experience in the industry, without holding formal educational qualifications. He has played a key role in establishing the Company’s chain of retail supermarkets. 3. Hiren Bechar Patel is the Non-Executive Director of the Company and one of its Promoters. Associated with the Company since its inception, he has more than 10 years of industry experience and does not hold any formal educational qualifications. He currently advises the management on matters related to liaisoning with various statutory authorities.
