Urban Company is a technology-driven, full-stack online services marketplace, providing quality-focused home and beauty services. As of June 30, 2025, the company operates in 51 cities across India, UAE, and Singapore, while services in Saudi Arabia are offered through a joint venture.

Business Model

The company follows a platform-based B2C model, enabling customers to book a wide range of standardized services delivered by trained, independent service professionals.

a) Service Categories: Home services (cleaning, pest control, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, painting, InstaHelp), beauty and wellness (skincare, hair grooming, men’s grooming, massage therapy).

b) Products: Tools and consumables for service professionals, sourced from select brands, some exclusively manufactured for Urban Company.

c) Native Brand: Offers water purifiers (launched FY23) and electronic door locks (launched FY24).

d) International Operations: Provides services in UAE, Singapore, and KSA (via JV since Jan 2025).

Market Opportunity

India’s home services market was valued at US$60 billion in FY25 and is expected to grow at 10–11% CAGR to reach US$100 billion by FY30, though online penetration is still below 1%. Urban Company is positioned to capture this opportunity by addressing key industry gaps—ensuring standardized, reliable service delivery for consumers and improving earning potential for service professionals.

1. India Consumer Services includes all home, beauty, and wellness services, structured into Standard Service Units (SSUs) with defined parameters, SOPs, pricing, and prescribed products.

2. Native Products focused on innovative consumer solutions, currently water purifiers and smart door locks.

3. International Business: Services across UAE, Singapore, and KSA (via JV), Supplies tools and consumables to service professionals abroad.

Previously with BCG, he has 13+ years of experience. 2. Raghav Chandra – Executive Director & Chief Technology & Product Officer, Co-founder of Urban Company (2014), he drives product technology, design, and automation. A UC Berkeley graduate, he has been listed in Forbes 30 under 30 and Fortune 40 under 40. He earlier worked with Twitter and has 10+ years of experience. 3. Varun Khaitan – Executive Director & COO, Co-founder of Urban Company (2014), he oversees business operations in India and overseas. An IIT Kanpur alumnus, he has won the IITK Young Alumnus Award and has featured in Forbes 30 under 30 and ET 40 under 40. He previously worked with Qualcomm and BCG, with 10+ years of experience.
